AFFORDABLE MOBILE TECH FROM SWEDEN

SWEDISH SIMPLICITY

THE SWEDISH TECH CHALLENGER

Swedes like to keep things simple. We like it when the products we use are intuitive and work for us, helping us improve our lives. Not the other way around.

Sweden is at the forefront of digitalization. We are constantly developing and embracing new technology. But for Swedes, balance is everything, so we always make sure that just as much Heart as Brain go into the mix. We do this for good reasons.

Digitalization has the power to become the greatest tool for democracy ever developed. But, as we have already seen, the same technology can be used against us.
Governments around the world. Tech Giants in Silicon Valley. Mobile Phone companies.

We all have a responsibility in making sure that the digital citizens in a connected world are safe. Safe from inappropriate usage. Data mining. Radiation.

So why would a Mobile Phone Company such as Dahl Mobile talk of the threats of technology?
Well, Swedes are honest and we still believe that the benefits of a connected world exceeds the dangers, if we dare to address them. We are ready to take our responsibility, and urge others to do so as well.

The benefits of Swedish digitalization needs to benefit all. We have a strong feeling of that what’s right is right and that if you make money, you should give money back. That’s why 10 % of all our profits are re-invested in the local market. It’s also the reason why we’re committed to supporting the opening of both a Tech Campus and an assembly facility in South Africa.

On a larger scale, we do everything in our power to make sure that we as a company and our products are as eco-friendly and sustainable as possible. Our components are carefully selected with sustainability in mind and we build our devices to have a greater lifespan than the competition.

We are Dahl Mobile and we are from Sweden. We believe that everyone should have access to affordable mobile technology – intuitive products that help improve lives and connect the world in order to improve it.

We call that Swedish Simplicity.

AN INTRODUCTION TO HOW WE THINK

DIGITAL RIGHTS ARE HUMAN RIGHTS

It only took a few decades for digitalization to change almost everything; The way we consume media, hang out with our peers, perform our financial matters and our shopping. Still, we’re only at the beginning of where digitalization will take us.

In a connected world, it’s vital that every citizen gets the same opportunities to access, use, create and publish digital media. In the end, it’s a matter of democracy and we can’t afford to leave anyone unwillingly behind.

A CONNECTED WORLD AT DIFFERENT LEVELS

The world in general is not an equal place. Neither is the connected world. Even though more people have access to a mobile phone than to a toilet, barely 50% of the world’s population has access to the internet.

Once online, your physical citizenship determines what you see. Politics, regulations, and levels of economic development play a major role in shaping the digital landscape. But the landscapes are changing rapidly with emerging markets catching up and developed countries having democratic setbacks.

A GREAT TOOL FOR DEMOCRACY.

Digitalization has the power to become the greatest tool for democracy ever. At the same time, the potential for bad actors to create widespread havoc increases with every year. We have all seen the examples.

Though no single one actor can change this alone, it should be on top of the agenda for governments, digital entrepreneurs and the juridical system to take action. Or at least make some noise about it.

A WORLD IN DANGER

So far we’ve focused a lot on the connected world and the effects of digitalization. While that certainly is important, the physical world we live in is in flames. Quite literally.
All around the world, signs of global climate changes are showing as the exploitation of natural resources and depletion of nature continues. This is something that affects us all and for a modern brand, it’s essential to be as sustainable as possible.

We need to take this seriously and do our part. Yet, few in our industry do.
